Make continuous/normal attack the same for limited attacks

The current rules when attacks are limited and continuous attack is allowed seem a little... wrong. I feel that continuous attack should be equivalent to clicking repeatedly, and either:

(a) each roll counts as one attack, OR
(b) all rolls attacking country A from country B, with no different attacks or transfers or whatever in between, count together as one attack

Considering (a) would break existing maps, or require yet another flag in the Rules section, I'm in favor of (b). This would allow people to make attacks as long or short as they want, letting them stop at any time, and have it count towards one of their limited attacks. --Tanketz 19:21, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

  • A few things here, there is a setting to NOT allow continuous attacks when attacks are limited. Most maps allow Continuous attacks even if attacks are limited for gameplay and to prevent stalemates. In short, (a) is currently possible by turning that setting Off. Then as far as (b) goes, I guess I'm not sure under what conditions you are looking for this functionality. You can currently attack down to a certain number of your armies when using continuous attack, which in a sense is making attacks as long or as short as you want. I think just flat out changing this to (b) could drastically change many maps (especially without a setting). For example if this was allowed on Salem's Dusk someone could "feel" who and how many troops are in the next territory and see whether they should full out attack or retreat, under current this would count as an attack and then to fully attack the area would count as another attack, but under (b) this would just be a single attack. I personally probably wouldn't be against another setting, but off the top of my head seems like this is somewhat current functionality. --Yertle 21:45, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
