Territory Owner Display

I expect this one might be easy to implement. Also, let me know if the information is already located somewhere that I didn't find.

I think it would be nice to list who owns the territory when it is selected in the map details. I just experienced a case where this would be useful since I couldn't easily distinguish the player exact color on my laptop.

Sounds like there are some issues with the "Contrast" plugin. In any case, I just added this feature to the live site along the lines that you describe in this feature description. Take a look and let me know if it works as you expect. --Steven 20:58, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

That looks good. Although I would change the verbage from "Current occupied by player" to "Currently occupied by player" but that's grammar/typo nitpicking. :) --FadeToOne 22:20, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
Ooh, on second look, there's still another problem. If you click on a fogged territory, you can see who owns it :P --FadeToOne 22:21, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
Yikes... good catch... I'm glad you found that so quickly. I just updated the site again. Should only show now for Lightly Fogged, Moderate Fogged (both of which show ownership for all territories) and No fogged games. Let me know if you notice anything else. --Steven 22:49, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Suggested Steps

  • Go to Details > Map
  • Select a territory
  • Place "Territory Owner (or Occupier?): <player name>" in the Map Details box

Of course we'd want to make sure that fog territories don't display the names, so the logic should be if(colored) {show name}

[edit] Possible solution?

Not sure if this will exactly meet your needs. But try this out and see if how it works for you:

  • Browse > Plugins > Page 2 > High Contrast > Install (don't worry this is only installing this into your Warfish account not your local computer)
  • Then go to a game and go to Details > Contrast tab and click on the users at the bottom of the page.

I suppose the contrast plugin might be a tad nicer if you could click on the territory itself, but using that plugin you should be able to differentiate close colors. Please update this page on how it works for you. --Steven 22:21, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

D'oh, didn't even think of looking there. Doesn't look like it works for me though. I had a friend try and it didn't work for him either. My theory is that the plugin doesn't work for fill-style boards. I did have another idea though, it might be nice to allow players to set override colors, since colors may vary from computer to computer. That sounds like a lot of work to implement though, and I'm sure someone else has probably already thought of it. --FadeToOne 14:42, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Can you give a little description of what happens? So we can see if the plugin designer can fix it? What browser / OS, etc? --Steven 15:21, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
That's the thing. Nothing happens. I go to the "Contrast" tab and I click a user at the bottom, and nothing happens. I do see the following javascript error, however:
Error: thedata._content.board is undefined
